Dr. Dekow grew up in North Andover, MA, but was born in North Carolina. He attended Boston College and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Dekow then attended the University of Pennsylvania, earning his Master of Bioethics degree from Penn Medicine and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Penn Dental. Dr. Dekow graduated with Honors in the Care of Medically Complex Patients, as well as awards in Implantology, Periodontology, and Operative Dentistry.
Following dental school, Dr. Dekow completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with the US Army. He was selected to join the Special Operations Medical Detachment at Fort Bragg after his completion of Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA. He obtained his Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2019, a distinction only achieved by 6% of general dentists.
Dr. Dekow prioritizes the patient experience and aims to make all patients feel comfortable and involved in their care. He challenges himself to provide the best care possible and loves restoring confidence in his patients’ smiles.
Outside of work, Dr. Dekow enjoys hiking with his wife, Dr. Laura Johnson, and spending time with their daughter, two cats and two German Shepherds. He also enjoys skiing, woodworking, and traveling to explore new places.
