Despite health insurance being a requirement, dental coverage is optional. While this may be beneficial…
Use Your BCBS Benefits Before They Expire
Do you have dental insurance coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield? If so, you likely have several covered treatments, including routine cleanings and examinations. If you haven’t scheduled a dental appointment this year, now is your time to do so before your benefits expire.
What Is BCBS?
Blue Cross Blue Shield is one of the largest healthcare insurance providers in the United States. Enrollment involves paying an annual premium (usually in monthly installments) in exchange for coverage on certain healthcare treatments.
When you have dental insurance, you are covered for an entire plan year, typically the calendar year (Jan 1 – Dec 31). Most insurance plans completely cover two yearly routine cleanings and examinations and offer partial coverage for other services. So if you don’t schedule your dental visits twice a year, you forfeit treatment for services you’ve essentially already paid for with your insurance premium. Plus, you increase your risk of developing dental disease. In conjunction with maintaining a consistent brushing and flossing routine, consuming a balanced diet, and avoiding tobacco products, visiting the dentist will help you have healthy gums and strong teeth!
What If I Don’t Have Dental Insurance?
You don’t need dental insurance to enjoy a healthy smile! There are many ways to pay for your treatment at CarolinasDentist. For example, we accept financing through CareCredit® and Comprehensive FinanceTM. Financing can also be used to cover services not included in your BCBS benefits. Our in-house Dental Discount Plan is an affordable alternative to dental insurance. We also have new patient specials.
